Black Tie Optional
We invite our guests to dress in formal attire for our celebration.
Gentlemen: A tuxedo is welcome but not required. A dark suit with a tie or bow tie is perfectly appropriate.
Ladies: Floor-length gowns, formal midi dresses, or elegant cocktail dresses are all wonderful choices.
We recommend arriving at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church at least 20–30 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow time for parking, seating, and getting settled before the ceremony begins.
Both our ceremony and reception will be held indoors, so guests can enjoy the celebration comfortably regardless of the weather.
Transportation is generally not necessary for guests staying in Center City Philadelphia. The Notary Hotel is conveniently located just a short 2–3 minute walk from both Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Crystal Tea Room. For guests staying elsewhere, ride-share services such as Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout the city.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 PM. We kindly ask guests to arrive early and be seated before the processional begins.
The ceremony is expected to last approximately one hour and will conclude around 4:00 PM.
Following the ceremony, guests are welcome to enjoy some free time and explore Center City Philadelphia before the reception begins. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will begin at 6:00 PM at the Crystal Tea Room, followed by dinner and dancing.
We kindly ask guests to refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. We have hired professional photographers and videographers to capture the occasion, and we would love for everyone to be fully present as we celebrate together. You're welcome to take plenty of photos during cocktail hour and the reception.
